Bespoke Wedding & Celebration Cakes

Bespoke cakes are our passion and we love to labour over our designs to make sure our couples receive the cake of their dreams. As every cake we create is unique our pricing is quite varied. Below you’ll find a breakdown of our pricing which is based on a very simple buttercream or fondant cake. The cost of a bespoke wedding cake is comprised of the portions required plus the complexity of the design.

We offer two styles of wedding cake sizes – modern skinny tierd cakes which offer height with fewer portions, and the classic standard tiered cakes which have slightly wider proportions.  Below you’ll see pricing for each style plus the minimum portions for each.

HOW MUCH CAKE DO I NEED?

These days, most catered menus include a dessert course for your guests. If you’re serving the cake as part of an evening buffet and not as the dessert then you can account for 60-70% portions for your guests. Not everyone will partake in the buffet. This number can be lower if you’re including other sweet items along with the cake. If you’re serving the cake as dessert though, then we do recommend a slice for each guest.

DELIVERY COSTS

We deliver and set-up all of our wedding cakes, liaising with the venue and wedding co-ordinator to ensure a seamless delivery and set-up. Delivery is based on the distance to the venue from our studio in Leith. Please get in touch with your venue for a delivery quote. Our delivery radius is 70 miles from Edinburgh City Centre but we do love a long drive and can deliver our wedding cakes throughout Scotland.

The modern skinny cake is an elegant way to add height to your wedding cake without adding too many portions. Their slender proportions and sleek style means that vertical and cascading designs work really well on these style cakes.

Never out of style, the classic tiered cake is beautifully proportioned and offers a decent amount of portions for the size. The proportions of these cakes are timeless so any design suits their shape, though clusters of sugarflowers do look so lovely nestled on the shelves of the tiers.

Sugarflowers

It is no surprise I’m sure that we love making sugarflowers! So many of our cakes are adorned with our hand-crafted sugar florals and foliage. Sugarflowers are a labour of love. Each petal and leaf is shaped, formed, painted and dusted by hand therefore they do increase the cost of wedding cake. This depends on the specific flower arrangement and the amount of coverage on the cake. If you would love sugarflowers but are mindful of your budget we recommend using the florals as a single focal point rather than covering the cake in flowers.

Sugarflowers are unique in that you can keep them long after your wedding day is over. As long as they’re kept away from humidity they’ll keep for years to come!

Please get in touch with your venue information for a delivery quote. Our delivery radius is 70 miles from the Edinburgh City Centre but we can deliver wedding cakes throughout Scotland on occasion.
